About Job:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the laboratory.
  • Dispose of water in which samples may have been soaked, in the specified manner, so as not to cause overflow in the drainage system.
  • Collect samples of soils, aggregates, concrete and other materials which need to be tested.
  • Register samples according to laid down procedures, under supervision of the concerned Technician.
  • Record test data under supervision of a Technician or Senior Technician.
  • Carefully handle them while storing and retrieving them, as well as during and after the testing.
  • Carry out other laboratory duties as instructed by the Laboratory Manager.
  • Assemble and maintain simple testing equipment under supervision.
  • Dispose of samples after tests are completed and when instructed to do so by the Laboratory Supervisor in the manner specified for the material.
  • Perform simple sample preparation as instructed by a Technician or Senior Technician.

Qualification and Skills:

  1. Graduate in any subject, preferably Chemistry or with Diploma or Certificate in Engineering or Geology.
  2. High School Certificate is adequate.
  3. Basic Computer Skills.
  4. Testing Experience in an accredited materials laboratory, granular and Asphalt material.
  5. Possession of driving license is advantageous.
  6. Diligent and hardworking, with a passion for doing everything correctly.
  7. Communication skills to understand instructions in writing as well as spoken, and to convey clear messages.
  8. Good written and spoken English skills and Team player.
  9. Meticulous in following instructions.
  10. Knowledge of using computers for data entry, if and when required.
  11. Dexterity in handling different equipment, tools, chemicals and samples.
  12. Accuracy in reading results of tests and recording them correctly if required.
